This time tomorrow P4 will be jetting off to Melbourne for the first ever Buffet trade show. Today I received our little passes for entry on the Friday. Whilst it sounds shallow, it’s pretty cool to see the Project 4000 name on something that myself or Taz didn’t create.
The show runs from Friday the 26th to Sunday the 28th (the weekend being public days). There’s a fair lineup of people and brands in attendance that you can read up about on the Buffet website. The highlight of the weekend for many will no doubt be the appearance of Mr Pigeon himself; Jeff Staple and the latest season from his STPL brand. The boys at Deep Surface informed me they’ll be on the floor pushing their new line of tees so if you’re going be sure to check ‘em out. Representing Brisbane we’ll have Grand Scheme and Gear. Also attending will be 2 other Aussie names that P4 are big fans of; Bbot Defence Systems and leather goods creator extraordinaire For The Homies.
If you spot us running around the arena this weekend, don’t hesitate to come and say hi. God knows we need the human contact.

With Taz somewhere in the middle of Asia, I’ve been left with the blog to run. Problem is, I’ve been busy and frankly there isn’t that much stuff around that I could be bothered posting. So while we gear up for this weekend’s trip to Melbourne for Buffet, I decided to whip out my trust old Nikon Coolpix point-and-shoot and snapped some pointless images for you to be amazed by.

I can already hear Taz complaining that the picture I used for this post is useless because it has nothing to do with what I’m talking about. Well it came from Dita’s site so it counts!
The only set of Dita Lanciers in the country and the last set in the world just arrived at Laced. Each piece is utter craftsmanship, that and the insane limited quantities (apparently under 50 of each worldwide) means that they’re quite pricey. But for your money you get some of the nicest sunnies going around, plus a tool kit and what seems like 50 boxes within boxes!
The LS-001 in black which I already posted about are gone, as are the PS-004 in silver. That means there’s only 7 pieces left! Buy ‘em online or pop into the store and check them out for yourself.
If you do buy some say it was because I said to.

So we have been busy to say the least, we got our first look at our very own cut and sew T-Shirts a very rough sample was hand delivered today. We must admit there is a very steep learning curve when it comes to producing quality clothing, however so far soooooooooooooo good!

It’s no secret that myself and the big T go a bit gooey for anything astronomical. What’s interesting is the amount of effort that goes into capturing images from the deepest realms of the universe. Whilst you could use a multi-billion dollar telescope like Hubble to take a few glamor shots, there are also plenty of amateur astrophotographers around.
Last year Rogelio Bernal Andreo let Wired in on the process he uses to create some amazing shots of nature at work thousands of lightyears away. Check out the article here.
On a more recent note, you may recognise the nebula in this image as the one that we shamelessly use for the blog header (and cards). It’s the Orion Nebula and this particular shot was taken on the new VISTA telescope. What’s even more amazing is the size of the full-resolution file: 341mb!
