Ok so a while ago yours truly needed some new spectacles and while gallivanting through the city we found the mothership of Eyewear, quiet possibly the best optical store I personally have ever stumbled into. Vintage, quirky, stylish, cool, praise worthy and the most eclectic collection of eyewear as far as the eye can see (pun wholeheartedly intended). I’ve been to great stores in Paris, London, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Bangkok, but no one place has ever offered more than the 4000’s own, Optiko at Tattersall’s Arcade, Brisbane.

So our homies over in France have finally started shipping their Veam sneakers out. Aside from a pretty pointless post on Highsnobiety, they seem to have flown under the radar pretty well. Solebox and La MJC got together and organised the first ever international Solemart the other weekend. The Euro sneaker heads have insane vintage heat hidden away, so it’s great that they bring it out for stuff like this. Thomas Prudon made a great little video capturing some of the footwear on display, as well as a quick few words from Cool Cats/LaMJC/All Gone’s Michael (of which I understood nothing).

Those bloody fixie riders are always ruining tyres, ever wondered what happens to all that rubber? Well the naughty tyres go on to become Crocs. The lucky tyres become womens fetish accessories… but a select few get turned into Jiro belts and accessories. Recycling is the name of the game here, and that’s a good a good thing in my book, plus they look nifty regardless. This gorgeous pair of Feit Moc Hi Boots in luscious Ox Blood Leather just arrived at my door steps. Just the best boots out period, because unlike most of the work boots that are meant for ermmm working, these shoes are made by people who know a thing or two about fit and out of the box comfort. Feit’s don’t require you to spend a whole month walking around with blood soaked socks.

With Bread & Butter currently taking place in Europe, the blogs are awash with new product making its first public appearance. Out of the hordes of trash I spotted this sweet collaboration. Swedish brand WeSC (pronounced wee) have teamed up with Super to create a completely new frame. Now I’ve been a fan of the newer styles that Super have move to, I wasn’t ever really a fan of their Ray Ban Wayfarer rip known as the Basic.
