JDM Style Tuning Meet Brisbane

After our escapades to the Core Series final on Sunday, last night we dropped by the monthly JDMST Brisbane meet to see what these guys get up to. Reports were that last time over 150 cars turned out, so expectations were high. Needless to say, we weren’t disappointed with plenty of cars turning up. It’s nice to see there’s a move away from the candy paints, giant chrome wheels and airbrushing that seems to dominate the Australian scene. We didn’t bother taking too many shots because aside from there being plenty of guys that shoot all night, we’re still a grip on shooting in different settings.

Big thanks to Riley and Rory for making us feel welcome, and to all the guys and gals that grabbed some stickers cheers. I’m sure there were plenty of “what the…” reactions from those who found P4 stickers shoved under their windscreen wipers, but hey we’re shameless.

For more pics and future event info you can head to JDMST or check out Downshift Aus.

A few good dudes I know got together to form a new band called Apollo, I’m not well versed in my indie music but I did really enjoy attending their debut show at Noosa’s own crap shack of a bar now given a trendy name, Fusion. I think they are alluding to the fused smell of B.O. and V.B. soaked carpets, regardless of the venue these guys definitely put on a stellar show and I am sure they would like to thank all their friends who attended and a good time was had by all.

- T, more pictures inside and yes I’m back and I am putting a ban on hideous flyers!!

Domestique Launch – Chandler Velodrome

This past weekend, Brisbanites took to the Chandler Velodrome to celebrate the launch of newly established bicycle themed brand, “Domestique”. A large group of fixie heads gathered to check out the new brand, show some love and just have a damn good time. For many this was their first experience on the velodrome, whilst a few were already seasoned competitors. Along with the track there was also a few fellows that came along to oversee the velodrome newbies and offer a word of advice (or three). We went along to take some photos and drop some of our new stickers off.

Domestique is now available at The Outpost, Gear and Sneak & Destroy and a big thanks to the stores for organizing this dope day, as well as the velodrome support staff for putting up with the rag tag bunch.

Easter Road Trip To Sydney

Collage

Over the Easter break I took to the road and drove from the Sunshine Coast all the way down south to Sydney. The 1000+ Kilometers of journey would’ve been hellish if it wasn’t for my good friends and good food stops on route. While there i got to check out the new range of Feit, dropped into Supply, had a dope meeting with Ones Clothing and got to checkout the HMAS Darwin.

Sono Japanese Restaurant – Brisbane City

2010-03-20-Sono-1

Finally convinced three of my favorite compadres to sack up and join me for a night of titillating tastes in Brisbane at one of my favorite restaurants, called Sono”. Even though they are some of my favorite people to hangout with I must say they’re taste buds aren’t always up to the challenge for my culinary expeditions. Three fussy eaters who take a dislike to certain seafood, aren’t exactly the correct demo graph for a Japanese meal, however if any place was going to leave a good memory for fine seafood on their taste buds, Sono definitely meets that criteria.

- T, see what went after the break! ALLEZ CUISINE!

Queensland Gallery Of Modern Art – Southbank, Brisbane

This week we decided to revisit the Queensland Gallery Of Modern Art, a pleasurable day spent gawking at visually stunning art work and accompanied by some of the best views of the city from the river front gallery. Currently both the Art Gallery and Modern Art Gallery are exhibiting the 6th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art. Make sure you take the time to check out these incredible displays, our photographs dont do them justice it is something you really need to see in person.

Brisbane Status Update – Food to the Rescue!

After nearly being bored to death by the immensely overrated Where the Wild Things Are, the most recent field trip into the BNE was salvaged by good food. It seems that nothing matters when you have something tasty to slide down your gullet.

There was also an impromptu visit to the newly opened Culture Kings and catchup with our friends at Apartment. We had a go at snapping some pics at Apartment but weren’t happy with the results so we’ll bring you a proper pile of shots next time we’re around that neck of the woods. Culture Kings on the other hand… we’ll leave you to make up your own minds about why we wont be featuring them on this site.

Food pics ensue after the jump.

Noosa Status Update – Fight Night!

We’ve been quite well……quiet lately. Exam season and real work commitments keeps both of us sadly preoccupied pied these days. But finally this past weekend I got a chance to step out of the house for some R and R with the boys and attended a Fight Night in Noosa.

As of recent I have taken an interest in fight sports and my boy pictured above having his first amateur bout and I was ring side to capture every moment even though when he knocked his opononent out I was too busy in celebration and dishging out high fives and fist bumps to capture the moment, but there is some footage i will upload soon. Lots of mean photos after the jump!

Noosa Status Update – 27.09.2009 – Noosa Classic Car Show

First off, we know we’ve been a bit slack this last week or so with the posting. Both of us have been pretty busy with our lives outside the realm of P4 (hard to believe).

Anyway, this past Sunday we rolled into the Noosa Classic Car Show and were thoroughly impressed. Somebody proclaimed it to be “Australia’s answer to Pebble Beach”. Whilst this is an unfair comparison for both parties involved, there were some great automotive masterpieces on display (and some not-so-great). Unfortunately the dust whipped up by strong winds meant that most of these classics were covered in a thin film of dust.

We realise that simple shots of cars can be pretty damn boring so we tried to give you a taste of the event from a more interesting perspective. Hit the jump to see what we came up with.
