“I’m Here” is a web short by uber hyped up director Spike Jonze, a love story about two robots. I didn’t care much for “Where The Wild Things Are”, however Spike Jonze’ style of movie making really works in a short film format because its super stylistic and carries on in a very slow and steady pace. The story is just lovely, I wont spoil it for you be sure to check it out yourself here on the official I’m Here.

I honestly can’t say anything about the plot of this movie without giving away something important, but this a fresh look at this genre without being sappy or unintelligent. If you’ve liked Garden State or Stranger Than Fiction, this has a very similar feel to both of these movies not so much in the subject matter but more in the story telling and unique visuals.

Some of the visuals are almost picturesque and use of animation is appropriate. The score and soundtrack is excellently executed at no stage does it feel out of place or out of sync.

It is a fresh look at the romantic-comedy-tragedy genre with evident influences of film noir and art house while maintaining a very approachable and relatable. Go check it out let me know your thoughts, my recommendation is its a must watch this summer.

The September Issue is a behind the scene look at how they put together the most influential fashion book of the year. Its quite interesting to see how important print media is to High Fashion, considering everyday we are moving toward becoming a paperless world.

Its not just skinny bitches and lots of expensive clothing, but rather a lot of hard work, passion and personal expression. Its competitive, to the point were a lot of personal feelings are hurt but its as necessary as any industry.

To have an exacting vision and be decisive while maintaining the ability to forecast the direction of a creative industry that affects people in so many different ways, this monumental task is left to the experienced for a reason.

Definitely worth checking this out if your interested in design, publication, photography or just clothes. Now showing at a theatre near you.

M. Night Shyamalan has got his shit together what looks like to be the first decent Anime to Movie iteration yet! If you dont know what Avatar – The Last Airbender, is you have missed out on a fantastic series on Nickelodeon, by far one of the best mainstream Anime shows in the last couple of years.

The Premise

The film is set in a world where human civilisation is divided into four nations: Water, Earth, Air and Fire.

The Fire Nation is waging a ruthless, oppressive war against the other three nations. The film’s hero, the reluctant young Aang (Noah Ringer), is the “Last Airbender” — the Avatar who, according to prophecy, has the ability to manipulate all of the elements and bring all the nations together.

Aided by a protective teenage Waterbender named Katara (Nicola Peltz) and her bull-headed brother Sokka, Aang proceeds on a perilous journey to restore balance to their war-torn world.

Jackson Rathbone plays Katara’s brother Sokka, and Dev Patel plays Prince Zuko, prince of the Fire Nation.

Aasif Mandvi is set to play the role of Commander Zhao, an ambitious and hot-tempered Fire Nation commander. Shaun Toub is cast as Uncle Iroh, the retired Fire Nation general and devoted surrogate parent to Zuko.

Cliff Curtis is set to play the ruthless ruler Fire Lord Ozai. Keong Sim has been cast in the role of Earthbending Father.

Prince Zuko isn’t Asian enough in my opinion but Aang looks pretty spot on!

SF Fixie mogul, Chris Fonseca, has finally completed his film, “No Cassettes,” featuring fixie freestyle tricks shot all over California. Australian Premiere August 15 at Gear Brisbane.

I have a fascination with watching ridiculously shit movies this one i haven’t seen but the trailer alone enough to put it on a legendary list of ballsy movie making that can only come out of the geniuses in Bollywood.

This movie was released as a part of launching the an Indian super car named “TARZAN” aka The Wonder Car. Due to huge failure of the movie at the box office, car was never launched.

Producers of the movie & car faced huge losses. The sheer ridiculousness behind this idea come from the same people who now own Jaguar, lets hope they dont make a movie about that anytime soon.

History of the Car – Link

Car designing firm Dilip Chhabria Design or DC Design, on July 15, unveiled the ‘wonder car’ used in Gordhan Tanwani’s Rs 15-crore (Rs 150 million) thriller, Taarzan – The Wonder Car.

The dream car costs a whooping Rs 2 crore (Rs 20 million). The car is the hero on four wheels and can swim, fly, cross fires and fight villains as well. The movie revolves around Raj (Vatsal Sheth), a mechanical genius who designs a fantasy car that becomes the envy of the whole country. Reminded of Knight Rider? Ah well!

Chhabria’s violet hotwheels modelled on a Toyota MR2 took eight months to produce. He said he aimed for a bold clientele for his car who could identify with the colour. The soon-to-be released film was directed by Abbas-Mustan.

Chhabria also said his firm DC Design will come out with an initial public offer in the next three years.
